KINDRED exists to foster more encounters with Christ. We believe this begins with reclaiming devotional time for God in our daily lives. The KINDRED Bibles collection is an immersive presentation of Catholic biblical books designed to deepen our relationship with Christ through scriptural reflection and contemplative prayer, helping us become sensitive to the Holy Spirit's revelations, leading us to divine union.

Visio Divina
Our intentional design process maintains the biblical texts' sacred nature while creating an engaging and reflective bible experience by integrating the contemplative prayer principles of Lectio Divina (divine reading) and Visio Divina (divine seeing) into the composition. Lectio and Visio Divina are early church monastic methods of approaching the Bible formed on the principle that Scripture is a meditative meeting place for a personal encounter with the living God. We intentionally create opportunities for a participatory way of engaging Scripture with a design format that cultivates moments of reading (lectio), reflecting (meditatio), prayer (oratio), and contemplation (contemplatio) to nourish a spiritual state of receptive prayer.

We approach Scripture with the understanding that every parable is equally essential for Christian formation. Each parable is exhibited independently on its own page to ensure every lesson gets the attention and prayerful examination it deserves.
Well-defined typography detail and ample white space help deliver and frame each biblical message in a manner that frees us from distractions and prepares us to hear the Word of God spoken to us in the present moment.
Photography is a companion element to Scripture. We showcase striking natural creations absent of human-made features to bring glory and praise back to God. The visuals are an invitation into Visio Divina, a prayerful examination that helps us explore the image's entirety with a receptive mind and contemplative heart. It invites us to see deeply beyond our intellect, first impressions, past initial ideas, judgments, and understandings into a spiritual subconscious to receive and hear God in contemplative prayer.

TRANSLATION
The New American Bible, Revised Edition (NABRE) is a culmination of 20 years of work by a collective of nearly 100 scholars, theologians, bishops, revisers, and editors. The NABRE is a formal equivalent translation of Sacred Scripture, sponsored by the Confraternity of Christian Doctrine, using the most trustworthy manuscripts available to provide a biblical translation that is more literal and accurate than previous translations available.

Be Formed in the Likeness of Christ
Our mission at KINDRED is to inspire each of us to approach Scripture as a divine encounter with Christ. The Bible is the Word of God - profound guidance from God to us. To receive the intent of God's instruction more fully, we must move beyond the solitary act of merely reading Scripture to a participatory engagement of our physical and spiritual senses. Through this deep engagement we can hear as God speaks directly to us. It is through the act of hearing that our relationship with God grows. As we listen, we become more intimate with the voice of God. We begin to encounter Him in a way that is not possible by solitary acts alone. This encounter allows us to be transformed by Scripture, becoming mindful of what God desires for us. Formed in the likeness of Christ, we become witnesses to the Word of God.
