LEARNING TO TRUST GOD AGAIN

Philippians 4:6-7

Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God. Then the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

Reflection: God Seeks to Gain Our Trust

Since Adam and Eve, humans have made decisions believing we know better than God. We are tempted to question, “Maybe God does not want what is best for me? Maybe God does not love me? Maybe we cannot trust God?” This train of thought leads us to sin, and then we seek forgiveness with the hopes of earning God’s trust again.

However, the truth is, God is the one seeking and hoping to gain our trust in Him again. He deeply desires for us to put our anxieties, afflictions, hopes, and requests into His safekeeping. When we learn to trust God again, we have true peace.
